By downloading, installing, or using Sumi Mahjong (禅艺麻将, hereafter "the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App. These Terms apply alongside the Privacy Policy.
Sumi Mahjong is an iPhone tile-matching solitaire game built around hand-tuned sumi ink mahjong tiles, quiet local play, and a no-ads promise. It stores saves, best times, settings, and theme choices locally, and uses Apple StoreKit 2 for one optional all-theme unlock. All features run locally on your device; the App does not depend on any remote server.
Except where these Terms expressly say otherwise, the App is distributed through the Apple App Store and is therefore also governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement ("Apple Standard EULA"):

Where these Terms conflict with the Apple Standard EULA, the term more favourable to you prevails. Provisions concerning Apple's own rights, responsibilities, and indemnities are governed by the Apple Standard EULA.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App, on Apple devices that you own or control running iOS 17 or later, as a single user (with Family Sharing enabled on in-app purchases, members of your Apple Family group may also use the App on their own devices under the same licence). You shall not:
The App may offer one optional one-time non-consumable purchase: Unlock All Themes. This purchase is intended to include all current and future premium visual themes in the App. The App does not offer auto-renewable subscriptions or separate theme purchases. Family Sharing availability for the non-consumable purchase is controlled by Apple and the App Store configuration.
All purchases are handled by Apple's StoreKit 2 framework; refunds are governed by Apple's standard refund policy and must be requested through Apple, not us.
Anything you put into the App belongs to you. We neither view nor are able to view this content; it is stored only inside the App's sandbox on your device. See the Privacy Policy for storage details.
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. In any event, the developer's total cumulative liability for the App shall not exceed the amount you paid Apple to obtain the App and its in-app purchases.
This licence terminates automatically if you breach these Terms; you may also terminate at any time by uninstalling the App. The "shall not" obligations in §4 and §§7–8 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Hong Kong SAR (excluding its conflict-of-laws rules). Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be settled through good-faith negotiation. Where you are a consumer, the foregoing does not deprive you of any non-waivable litigation rights granted by your local consumer-protection law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will update the "Effective" date at the top and be announced prominently inside the App; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance. All historical versions are accessible in the GitHub commit history.
This English text is the authoritative version of these Terms. Translations may be provided in the future for convenience but, where they differ, the English text controls.
